Volunteering
Since 1839, the Little Sisters of the Poor have continued the work of Saint Jeanne Jugan : welcoming elderly people with love and respect, and accompanying them until the end of their lives.
The Little Sisters desire to surround the elderly Residents with warmth, affection, and conviviality of a real family. For this spirit to live on, the Little Sisters need Individuals, families and groups who have the desire to give their time for the elderly with their listening ear, sharing their joys and talents.
Volunteers are able to provide invaluable support in many areas of our homes, both in direct contact with the elderly and through indirect services in various departments such as: reading, walking an elderly person, playing games, gardening, serving the meals, feeding the sick, preparing some events of the home, driving and accompanying the elderly to the hospitals and etc.
Your support is very important for the elderly. It will help to set up activities and entertainment that will help maintain their autonomy, quality of life, and even a pleasure to live, throughout their days.
If you would like to spend time with the elderly, please contact one of our home nearest to you.
