The National Bible Month

National Bible Month is an annual event in the Philippines signifying Bible reading highlighting its influence on the nation’s history, culture, and moral values. The event promotes faith, love, and righteousness among individuals, families, and communities. Two Little Sisters and a postulant participated in an event held at Our Lady of Pillar Parish, Zaragosa, under the theme “Pilgrims of Hope.” Fr. Tristan Palado RCJ opened the youth gathering with a reflection on human trafficking and St. Bakita, coinciding with Human Trafficking Awareness Day in the Philippines. Fr. Giovani Gamaya RCJ shared insights on sacred scriptures based on his experiences. A Little Sister recounted her journey inspired by the Bible, engaging the youth in her reflections. A spontaneous Q&A session encouraged participation, with correct answers rewarded with bracelets featuring St. Jeanne Jugan’s medal. Fr. Tristan presented an overview of the Bible books and their history. A procession was conducted, signifying unity with the Word of God, followed by a time for veneration and silent prayer. A tea break followed, enhancing the communal experience. While the sisters returned home, the youth camped overnight on parish grounds, concluding the gathering the next day with a mass for the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord in the Temple
