The Joy of Welcoming the Salib Malaysia in our Penang Home
Salib Malaysia 2026 (officially known as Perjalanan Salib, or Journey of the Cross) is a major nationwide devotional pilgrimage initiated by the Catholic Church in Malaysia as a spiritual preparation for the Malaysia Pastoral Convention 2026 (MPC2026).
The centerpiece of this journey is the SALIB, a specially crafted crucifix made of nine interconnected wooden crosses. Each cross represents one of Malaysia’s nine Catholic dioceses and is adorned with the Bunga Raya (Malaysia’s national flower) to symbolize unity in diversity.
On 31st May, Our Home was blessed with the joy of welcoming the Salib Malaysia among our Sisters and residents. It was a deeply moving and prayerful experience for everyone present. The residents took an active part in the pilgrimage by carrying the Cross upon its arrival at the Home and again as it departed to continue its journey to the next parish after two days. The occasion brought much spiritual comfort, reflection, and unity to our community.
