St. Jeanne Jugan's Home for the Elderly
Pampanga Foundation
Mother Provincial Ana Maria de Cristo discovered 14th Mountain Shine Beverages in Magalang, Pampanga while searching for roofing options for a new foundation in Mabalacat, Pampanga which was undergoing legal process, a plot of Padi field donated by the family of a Little Sister. Archbishop Florentino G. Lavarias of the Archdiocese of San Fernando provided support via a letter dated June 4, 2021. After the discovery of this outstanding house, he proposed the idea of initiating the process at a fully functional location while waiting for the legal process regarding the Mabalacat land to conclude.
On the 26th of January 2023, Mother Provincial, and 3 Little Sisters met up with the property agent. The agent revealed that the entire property was included in the sale, exceeding Mother Provincial’s initial expectations of just a large house. The Little Sisters collectively concluded that the location was appropriate for establishing their Home, notably due to the reasonable price. With minimal renovation, the facility could house more than 10 residents. Thus preparation was made for the establishment in Magalang. Henceforth on the 24th of May 2023, the inauguration and blessing of St. Jeanne Jugan’s Home for the Elderly in the Philippines took place, marking the successful establishment of this third foundation in a remarkably short timeframe. Archbishop Florentino G. Lavarias was the main celebration of the inauguration Mass. During the inauguration, in addition to parish priests, friends, and Little Sisters from the Homes, our first elderly resident, Lola Marina, was present. She had been admitted just a week prior due to a fire that destroyed her home and belongings.
